Fellowship, we were blessed by the word preached by our Apostle/Pastor, Bishop-Designate Dr. Barbara E. Austin Lucas. At our Harambee Worship Service at 8 AM, our Bishop-Designate fed us a rhema word from on high! With the sermonic title, "Get Out of God's Way," she implored us to get it DONE! As she led us in the examination of the sermonic text, Acts 11:1-18, GOD'S FIRE TO DO (accomplish God's Will) burned within and among us. In the text, the Apostle Peter was changed, transformed. In his example of sharing the Good News of Jesus, while coming before the people to teach Jesus he exhorted the people to not forget their old ways and behaviors they had not truly surrendered to God. What brought this apostle, builder of God's kingdom, down to the brink of depression and hopelessness was that in Jerusalem (the place he was called and sent) many believers -- the same ones he shephered as Jesus asked of him as a demonstration of his love for Jesus -- sought to tear him and the building of God's kingdom down. As disciples of Jesus, we are not supposed to tear people down whom are a part of God's Fellowship much less anyone else! As builders of God's kingdom, we are not to criticize others like the people of Jerusalem did to Peter! Each believer, upon receiving the gift of salvation is also extended the process of transformation. During this process, believers undergo the removal of the foreskin from their hearts. God is not caught up in picking and choosing; therefore, GET OUT OF GOD'S WAY! Peter, the one entrusted with feeding, making and maturing believers, needed to hear that wherever he went he was covered by God! The building of God's kingdom is not about us -- our personal agendas and motives! When God has given us a purpose, people will see that the word we are sharing is coming from God. The Apostle Peter's testimony is this: when he spoke, the Holy Spirit came upon him and the others who were obedient to God! If you desire to be an integral partaker of God's promise and an effective builder of God's kingdom, believe that in the midst of being torn down among believers and nonbelievers, your story is not over! Yes, GET OUT OF GOD'S WAY! However, Bishop-Designate heeded us: If you don't get out of God's Way, you will get burned!!! If we fail to catch the Fire of God intended to be a shield of protection from those who seek to destroy the building of God's Will, Work and Plan, we will be unable to partake of the awesome move of God. Not partaking of God's Fire means we will not transform, we will remain the same. But to those who catch the Fire of God are promised to see their deliverance from every thought, word or deed that seeks to destroy, kill and steal the divine purpose given their hands to do. The Apostle Peter, after catching the Fire of God, was able to have the assistance he needed to lead the work of God void of hindrance. As he moved throughout Jerusalem and the outer most parts of the earth, he gained a territorial anointing to share the Good News of JESUS. Fellowship, this morning, we got out of God's Way! Fellowship, this morning, we caught the Fire of God! Fellowship, this morning, we refused to be burned! We praise God for our Apostle/Pastor and are ready to continue the building of our vision and mandate in this season. We so enjoyed sharing with you today, and by God's grace we will Fellowship with you next week at our 8 AM and/or 2 PM Worship Service. Agape in all your ways, for our story is NOT over! Spheres of influences have been released in our house! Give God all the glory! Share this word with others to encourage them: "Your story is NOT over! Despite what you're going through, catch God's Fire and GET OUT OF GOD'S WAY!!!"
THE RIGHT REVEREND DR. BARBARA ETTA AUSTIN LUCAS,
PRELATE & SENIOR PASTOR
